Papertrey Peeps Challenge #2

This week's Peeps Challenge was submitted by Aimes. We were to select one of the products from Dorsey Cereals to use as inspiration for whatever we wanted to create. HERE is a link for more information.

These all looked yummy and I love granola. Just reading all the ingredients would make you hungry! Anyway, I chose Marmalade Granola but borrowed a little inspiration from the Honey (think bees!) Granola too! I thought a bright, cheery color would be perfect--kind to celebrate that we had sun today even though a new storm is expected! I had little bee charm that I wanted to use so my sentiments came from Honey Bees, a set by PTI.

Supplies:
Stamps: Beyond Basic Borders, Honey Bees (both PTI)
Cardstock: Orange Zest, Dark Chocolate, Summer Sunrise, Soft Stone (PTI)
Additional: Autumn Harvest Jewels (Paper Co. Studio), Bee charm
Hope you enjoyed our creations! There will be a new challenge tomorrow so check the Peeps blog so you can participate! Thanks for stopping by!!

Compose A Card Challenge: Week 5

Hi all, happy Friday! And welcome to another of Becky Oehler's Compose a Card Challenges. How about some polka dots in happy red and white. Here's a link to Becky's post so you can see what everyone else has created.
Here's the Recipe
And here's the inspiration
My Interpretation!
I loved playing with these colors and one of my favorite PTI stamp sets. The heart chain (my new EK Success punch) worked perfectly to remind me of the rickrack. And the apples are picked from the canister above the cupboard. The molding made me think of adding some score lines for dimension.
Supplies:
Stamps: Vintage Picnic, Communique Sentiments, Polka Dot Basics (all PTI)
Cardstock: PTI
Patterned Paper: Bitty Dots Basics (PTI)
Extras: Vintage Buttons (PTI), Copics, Memento Ink, EK Success punch

So much to see this week. PTI's monthly Blog Hop was yesterday and Waltzingmouse Stamps is doing peeks of Claire's new sets. If you haven't already, you might want to visit. Enjoy your day and have a great weekend!

PTI Blog Hop: Design Team Appreciation Day!!

Welcome everyone! This month's Blog Hop is to take an idea from a design done by one of the PTI Design Team and create something with our own spin on it. Wow, there are so many talented designers and fantastic samples that picking any one thing is no easy task! There are many reasons PTI is such a fabulous company but Nicole and the other design team members are way up at the top! Talk about inspiration--Wow! Just seeing their amazing creations is often what makes me decide I must have a certain set! Love all their different styles and informative blogs. Hopefully they all know how much we all love them and appreciate their hard work!!

One of my very favorite sets is On the Couch (and Additions) by Lisa Johnson. I love all of Lisa's designs but this one is pure FUN! I picked an image from one of her posts she did during the release. I had remembered how clever I thought it was but I just had never done my own card yet. What a perfect time to play. Here is the link to her original card! And here is my version:

Supplies:
Stamps: On the Couch & Additions, Communique Sentiments (PTI)
Cardstock & Button-PTI
Patterned Paper-Cosmo Cricket Material Girl
Ink: Memento, Copics

Have fun checking out all the all the other blogs. I am really anxious to see what everyone did!
Happy Blogging,
Sharron

Compose A Card Challenge: Week 4

Hi everyone! I have been on a short break and haven't posted for a few days. I LOVE Becky's weekly challenges so this is a good place to start. Great colors to work with and another fun new card size.
Here's a link to Becky's blog if you want to play along--or just watch her video and listen to the music!

I used all PTI supplies except for the ribbon and sun. Stamp sets are Scattered Showers and Sign Language. See recipe above for colors.

Hope your week is going well! I am off to check some blogs!

PTI Asian Fusion Challenge: Origami!

Wow, what a fun challenge! I love to make origami boxes. There are so many great patterns and they work perfectly for small gifts and table favors. I think the most fun is picking out the papers. This triangle box can be done with only one pattterned paper, or two or three! This one is done with three and both the top and bottom match. Here is a link to Nicole's challenge if you want to give it a try! You will love Melissa's new stamp set being introduced this month.

Yikes!! We have plans for the weekend and I absolutely have to get this house cleaned instead of doing challenges!!

Sharron

Compose A Card Challenge: Week 3

I am loving Betsy's Compose a Card challenges. They really help me to think outside the box. This week the card is much bigger than my usual and uses unconventional colors (at least for me). We are going to be gone this weekend so I knew I better get my entry done tonight. I didn't have any Terracota Tile cardstock so this is the closest I could find. I have no idea the source, probably Bazzill. The other cardstock is PTI and is in the challenge colors. I used the leaves from Beautiful Blooms and the focal image is from Autumn Abundance colored with Copics. Sentiment is from Communique Sentiments (all stamps from PTI). I used an EK Success border punch, Spellbinders Labels 1 and some Dew Drops. The leaves were stamped in New Leaf and embossed with clear embossing powder. I did add some widely spaced score marks to emulate the wall in the inspiration photo.

I don't know if I will be able to check messages until Sunday night so I probably won't get any comments posted.

Have a fabulous weekend.

CPS Sketch Challenge

I decided to step way out of my comfort zone and use Dawn's color palette. I always love her fabulous, often colorful creations but it is something that definitely doesn't come so easily for me. The sketch is from CPS and Papertrey Ink is hosting this week's challenge.

I used the Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz as the primary colors so my card is pretty PINK! The patterned paper is Bitty Dots-Dark Chocolate. The satin ribbon is, believe or not, Summer Sunrise. It seems to show up more as gold against the brown and pink. I used the flowers in Everyday Classics and stamped them in Raspberry Fizz ink on Hibiscus Burst cardstock. The sentiment is from Communique Sentiments and I stamped it with Fresh Snow and embossed with Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder (I need to order a nice white!). Border punch is EK Success and I added a Dew Drop and a few silk leaves. I also made two score lines at the bottom under the signature. I tried to adjust the lighting so it would show up but it still is hard to see!

Enjoy and hope your week is going well!

PTI Paint by Number Challenge

Papertrey Ink will be introducing another new product this spring--acrylic paint! And Nicole at PTI has another fun new challenge. We are to take the first letter of our log-in name to establish our color palette. Since I use my own name (I know--not too original) so I chose the N-S palette. See Nicole's blog HERE to get all the details.

I decided to make a card for my hubby! I used all PTI products except for the EK Success punch and a button from my stash. The stamps are from Daily Designs & Daily Designs Sentiments.

Lots of fun stuff going on over at PTI this week. Don't miss all the exciting new posts--something new every day!!

Smiles.......

Compose A Card Challenge: Week 2

For this week's challenge the design is a white on white card with accents of Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart and Aqua Mist. We were also to make five scored lines on the card. See Becky's blog for the recipe and card sample so you can submit a entry. There is still time Below is a photo for inspiration.
I think I am one of the few people who doesn't own any flower punches or dies! So I went to a Waltzingmouse set called Sewing Box-Hugs. All the images have blanket stitching along the edges. And the flowers are designed with four sections that can easily be cut apart for layering and mixing colors. The wavy image at the top of my card is also from the set and has the same blanket stitch around the edge. I decided to use some embroidery thread (DMC 964) and actually sew on an aqua border. I thought it would be fun if the flowers hung down like a little mobile and I used paper piercing for the 'wires'. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment if from Daily Designs set from PTI. Buttons and cardstock from PTI also.

Are you having a restful Sunday? We are due to have snow (gosh I say that a lot) sometime today but so far nothing! I assume everyone in the US is gearing up for the Super Bowl. No comments about who I am rooting for! Have a good day!

Papertrey Peeps Challenge #1

I am a member of a new blog group called the Papertrey Peeps. This is a group of wonderful friendly and supportive women who share a love of stamping and PTI products. We have decided to have a challenge every other week and the first one is hosted by Lori. The challenge is to make a card using buttons! You can participate too--just click on 'Lori' and you will be connected to the Peeps blog and a Mr Linky link. While you're there be sure to take time to see what the other Peeps have made!

For my card I used the basic design created by Becky Oehlers for the PTI Birthday Bash. I used the house and the sun (stamped, colored with Copics then cut out and glued to background paper from my stash (cool for a sky don't you think!). I added a Rain Dot on the sun. The foreground is some Bitty Dots paper and a tree from Through the Trees (new set from PTI). The little birds are in that set too. The balloons are from Everyday Button Bits as is the sentiment.

Wow, I have been so busy this week! Lots of challenges from PTI and Valentine cards!! I'm sure I will be posting again soon.

Have a good day........

Patchwork Hearts for Your Sweetie!

For anyone who has been visiting my blog, you might guess I love this stamp set! Today I used it for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. Click on the link to see the Vintage Heart Box which is the inspiration contributed by Alicia Thelin. I definitely felt it should be something simple and sweet. I stamped the hearts with a heart from Daily Designs (PTI). Five are done with Versamark Old Rose ink and one
'special' one is stamped in Pure Poppy (PTI) and cross stitched with DMC#321 embroidery floss. The sentiment is from Daily Designs Sentiments. Button from my stash. All cardstock and patterned paper is PTI.

Hope you are having a good day. It's snowing here!!

PTI Birthday Bash Card #4

I am winding down! This is Card #4 and this image is from Alli Miles. Isn't that little bear cute? I did a little paper piecing to add a little dimension and also added the balloon bouquet from Everyday Button Bits. All supplies are PTI except the paper I used for the bear. It is from my stash--source unknown.

Hope everyone is having fun checking all the contest entries. These are such fabulous images. It is now only about 2 hours before the next reveal. So the big decision about whether to stay up. Something tells me I will just have to take a little peek!!

Smiles,
Sharron

PTI Birthday Bash Card #3

Back again with Card #3! This image came from Heather Nichols. And it came all perfectly decorated and ready to go! Talk about easy. What a wonderful graphic to have on file to whip up a quick birthday card. Isn't this cool!

Again most of my supplies are from PTI. I did use a Martha Stewart 'loopy' stamp to accent the borders. The dark chocolate cardstock works perfectly with the chocolate frosted cupcake. I cut the cupcake layer with a Spellbinders die, added a little Bitty Dot paper and stamped a sentiment from Everyday Classics and VOILA!

Enjoy!

PTI Birthday Bash Card #2

Hi again, here is Card #2 for the Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash. This image is from Becky Oehlers. Isn't it adorable? The instant I saw it, I fell in love. Love the sweet whimsical style. This will be Becky's first year as a Senior Designer with PTI. She has been with them for quite some time but this is her first year designing stamp sets. I can't wait to see her first one. Be sure to visit her blog to see more.

After I printed out the image, it was easy peasy to do the card. I used Becky's recipe from last week to cut out the cardstock and paper. Everything is from PTI except the Earth Love patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket. Images were colored with Copics and I added a little glitter on the clouds and used a Rain Dot to brighten up the sun. This is such a happy design that I thought the sentiment from Everyday Button Bits was perfect.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do.
Be back later,
Sharron

Happy Birthday Papertrey!!

Exciting events going on!! Papertrey Ink is 3 years old and there is a big celebration going on. Wow, today is only Day 2 and so many announcements and fun competitions in progress. If you haven't visited Nicole's website yet, hurry right over and catch up! Today each of the Senior Designers has designed a graphic that we can download and use to design a card. All entries go into a contest to win some fabulous stamp sets! So much fun!!

I think I probably should quit staying up late every night to see what new things are being posted. Not only am I getting to bed late but I have so many ideas going through my head that then I can't sleep. It is a good thing I am retired now so I have time to enter contests! I used the sketch from Mojo Monday blog so will also post this entry there for Week 124.

This great image is from Melissa Bickford. All my supplies are from PTI. I used Black and White Basics patterned paper and colored with Copics. Then used the same colors to color Melissa's image. Used a scalloped circle punch plus 2 sets of Nesties for the circles. Embossing folder is from Sizzix, Lines and  Dots. Pretty simple.

I have images downloaded but not sure I can do EIGHT more cards tonight but it is such fun to play!

Happy Stamping,
Sharron
