Compose A Card: Week 1
Becky Oehlers has started a new weekly challenge called "Compose A Card". This fun new concept includes a video, a recipe, featured music and some type of inspiration! Be sure to check this out so you can join in. This week's card featured kraft, cream & melon berry colors, a heart punch, a melon berry button and melon berry saddle stitch ribbon. Unfortunately I didn't have any melon berry ribbon so substituted the dark chocolate. The stamp sets are Daily Designs and Daily Design Sentiments(PTI). I cross stitched the heart using a blend of brown and berry embroidery thread. Actually didn't take very long and I think is a nice textured addition. Embossing folder is Cuttlebug Houndstooth.
Hope you enjoy my take on this new challenge. Don't forget to check Becky's blog to see the other entries!
Have a good evening,
Sharron

Stitched With Love: 2 Sketches 4 You Challenge
Happy Friday Everyone!! This has been such a slow week. Didn't feel well a couple of days and definitely have not been creative! No posts since last Monday. I decided today I had to get at least one card done! This is from the new Papertrey Ink set, Daily Designs by Alli Miles. The sentiment is from the companion set, Daily Designs Sentiments. I LOVE these--so many great stamps!
I decided to go with a fairly simple design and loved the sketch for this week from 2 Sketches 4 You. Cardstock is all PTI. The card base is Sweet Blush. I embossed the white layer with the Cuttlebug embossing folder, Argyle. The next layer is stamped at the bottom with a Martha Stewart Valentine set stamp and the embossing at the top is another Cuttlebug embossing folder, Just My Type borders. I brushed across the EF with some Versamark Old Rose ink. The top layer is cut with Spellbinders Label 1 and stamped with a Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels #1 stamp. The center is the heart and sentiment from the Daily Designs sets. I added 3 strips of Making Memories patterned paper and some pearls. Ink used was the Old Rose and PTI Berry Sorbet.
We got out tonight for a quick dinner at a neighborhood restaurant but other than that have been pretty well snowed in. Still snowing as I post but hoping for a clearer Saturday!
Have a good weekend,
Sharron

Inside/Outside & Start to Finish
I am so excited! Tonight is my very first PTI Blog Hop!! I decided to also use this card for the Moxie Fab Start to Finish Challenge. Both are focusing on 'finishing' cards by doing more than just having a pretty cover. I am one of those people who has usually just done cards with blank insides! That's been okay because it does leave room for a note but doesn't leave any surprises for the recipient when they open the card. What fun to add something special inside too!
My last two posts also have finished insides. One with a plain border and the second one with a more extensive design. If you haven't yet seen these, you might want to take a peek.
Front of Card
Inside of Card
Today's card uses primarily Papertrey Ink supplies. The patterned paper however is from Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love and I used this as inspiration for my card. The turtle is from PTI Pond Life. The sentiments and bouquet are PTI Everyday Button Bits and I also used PTI Vintage Labels. I used a small heart from a Martha Stewart Valentine set to make the flowers. All cardstock is PTI (Summer Sunrise, Melon Berry, Kraft & Vintage Cream). Ink is Memento (Rich Cocoa & Bamboo Leaves); PTI (Melon Berry & Summer Sunrise). Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug Just My Type borders set. Spellbinders Labels 1.I have really enjoyed these challenges. Even if it is a sentiment or small coordinated detail, it is fun to think both 'inside and outside' when doing your cards. Please let me know what you think. I love it when you leave comments! And I am looking forward to visiting lots of PTI blogs tonight to see what everyone else has created!

I Feel Pretty in Turquoise and Gold: Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger
Wow, this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger is so pretty (love the turquoise and white) but it was really tough for me to come up with a card! I had a vague idea of what I wanted to use (the set and that I wanted to do an inside to the card) but I just couldn't get things to come together.
Front of Card
Once I went with the simple design everything seemed to fall in place. I had decided from the beginning to have a white chair and since I needed a pop of turquoise the cat on the front had to be blue!
Inside of Card
Supplies: Stamps-On My Couch and On My Couch Additions (Papertrey Ink); Cardstock & Bitty Box Patterned Paper-PTI; Gold Paper from stash; Ink-Memento, Versamagic Chalk; Fun Flock-Stampendous; Nesties, Copics; Corner Punch.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Thanks for visiting.......Take care!

Pure Innocence: Hugs
Here is my first Valentine card. I used the same sketch (from Mojo Monday 122) that I used in my last post. Once again, I flipped the sketch and changed the ribbon placement. Above is the front of my card and at the right is the inside. Just a simple border leaving room at the top for a short message and room for my signature between the 2 hearts.
The first time I saw a Pure Innocence design I just fell in love with them. I had never purchased any 'people' stamps but just had to have some of these! They are designed by Heather Ellis and besides selling stamps through MFT, she has digital images for sale on her Etsy site. I was really nervous about how to download them and use them on a card but it was quite easy. I bought several and I am sure I will add more so hope you don't get tired of seeing them!
Supplies: Stamps: Pure Innocence Digital Images, Sentiments & Small Hearts--Sending My Love (There She Goes); Cardstock: Pink--Stampin' Up', Raspberry Fizz and Dark Chocolate--PTI; Patterned Paper--Love Struck (Making Memories); Nesties; Heart Punch--Marvy; Ribbon--LSS; Ink--Memento, Copics; Spica Pen
Wednesday Golf! : Mojo Monday Week 122 Sketch
I used this week's sketch from Mojo Monday but I flipped the sketch and then ended up flipping the 'ribbon' too. I don't have any ovals so used the rectangle. Just a few changes there--making do with what I have! I am making cards ahead and everyone (well, all the guys) in my family play golf. So practically everyone ends up with a Riley card eventually!
Supplies: Stamps--Riley by Hanna Stamps, Sentiment from Birthday Basics (PTI); Cardstock--all Papertrey Ink; Patterned Paper--My Mind's Eye; Martha Stewart Twine, Charm--LLS, Ink--Memento, Copics
I also just made my first Valentine! I'll post it a little later.
Smiles........

Winter Garden
I love these colors. I went with a simple card but I definitely wanted to do one of the poofy flowers like Dawn McVey did on a recent video. I did mine a little differently--used 8 layers and no button. I didn't have a book that I could use so I punched scalloped circles from plain copy paper. I used the stamp intended for the wreath berries that is in the PTI Rustic Branches set and stamped each layer--worked perfectly! The bottom layer is punched from Polka Dot Parade patterned paper. These flowers are so much fun, and easy. Be sure to give it a try.
Supplies: Cardstock-PTI, Bazzill, Core dinations; Stamps-PTI (Guidelines, Rustic Branches, Everyday Classics); Patterned Paper: PTI (Guidelines, Polka Dot Parade; Embossing Folder-Quikutz; Border Punch-EK Success; Silk Leaves-PTI
I am working on more cards but this is my only post for now! Have a good one! Smiles.......

Mojo Monday Week 120
This is my first Mojo Monday contribution since the holidays. Always love the sketches and plan to get back into the weekly routine! This is a thank you card for my sister and I thought my little niece might like the House Mouse images. All paper and ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. Sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Sewing Box-Hugs. Card is pretty self explanatory. I did do a little paper piercing on the feet of the stuffed mouse!
Happy weekend--stay warm!

New Beginnings 2010--Happy New Year!
This card is for 2 challenges: Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger and Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #21. I knew when I first saw this week's trigger using the bird nest charger at Pottery Barn that I wanted to use PTI's Birds of a Feather. I love birds and was so excited when this set was released. I also love the beautiful font. I didn't plan on using yellow until I saw Dawn's color choices but now feel it adds that perfect warmth and spring feel. I cut circles with my nesties and then added the embossing. Both are Cuttlebug folders. I used Branches on the chocolate and ran it thru twice--in opposite directions. I sponged it with Vintage Cream ink (PTI) and used Camomile (also PTI) on the Bird & Swirls. The little stamp I used in the corners is from Boxes, Bags & Tags (PTI). All cardstock is Papertrey. I didn't have any aqua mist ink so I stamped the eggs with a light blue and shaded with Copics.
The little nest on the side is one I made using reed. Thought it should be in the picture too!
Hope everyone is staying warm. Today is the coldest day of the year so far here in Kansas. Looking forward to warmer days!
