Sweet Birthday!

I thought I would post this card that I made for our twin granddaughters' birthday today. They are eight-- and I did make two cards so each would have one! It's another version of ways to use the Half and Half stamps and dies. Can you tell I love these! And the inspiration came from one of the recent Stamp-A-Faire challenges. I did a similar card earlier for a different challenge but I like this one better. Since I only have the Sweet As Can Be dies I used patterned paper to create the cone and scoops of ice cream. The Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped on the inside.

Hugs,
Sharron

CAS-ual Friday Challenge #12: Here's The Rub!

This week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is to use rub-ons. Pretty much a challenge for me since I have only used rub-ons once! Just not one of those things I think to buy. But I did get this Christmas set recently at a sale. It's by KaiserCraft and I love this sweet image. And it's never too early too start on Christmas! Of course I had to use my new favorite Half and Half dies again. Aren't quick and easy projects fun. It's even something I could mass produce--except I used the only rub-on with this image!! :(

Rub-ons really are fun to use and give a great effect. I just might have to try them more often!

Have a good one and thanks for dropping by,
Sharron

PTI July Blog Hop

Time for another PTI Blog Hop and I was excited to use my newest stamp sets. This month we have a photo for inspiration--LOVE those. The colors are SO PTI! See the photo below and click here for link to Nichole's blog with details.
The base is Spring Moss cardstock And the strip is Aqua Mist cut with a die from the new Half and Half set. It was then stamped with a image from Half and Half stamp set. Love that they are open-ended and it is easy to continue the pattern to cover the entire die strip. The sentiment is from that set also and I drew around the stamp with a pencil and cut it out to have that shape. The triangle is from the this month's Tranquility Triangle and was cut with one of the new triangle dies. I decided to use Terracotta Tile for the orange as it is more muted. And the butterfly accent is two layers (white and Hawaiian Shores) using a Martha Stewart punch.

Enjoy the blog!!

Sharron

There are oodles of yummy cards on this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge blog. Go check these out for some 'sweet' inspiration! For this card I decided to use the candies from PTI's Background Basics: Christmas and a sentiment from Verve's Thankful Accents. Just stamping and diecuts but I did clear emboss the single candy on the sentiment circle!

Embellish Color Challenge (Light Blue, Dark Blue, Red, Brown); PTI Peeps Challenge

Today's card is for two challenges. The current Embellish challenge with a nautical theme and a PTI Peeps challenge, hosted by Cammie back in June, where we were to make a masculine card. I bought this wonderful set by Wilson Designs some time ago and had only inked one stamp. So glad to get it out again and play. The waves were made with a circle punch and the twine trim has a sailor's knot. I started out with just the waves and then realized that an extra layer of paper to create a horizon worked better. I fussy cut the sailboat and the life preserver and added a little light blue with a Copic marker to hopefully help blend in with the sky. Love this stamp set!

Every day here is over 100 degrees--even got up to 111! Lots of time is devoted to just keeping our flowers alive. They look terrible so I'm just hoping they all make it through the summer.

So glad you were able to visit--come back soon!
