The 12 Kits of Occasions: December with Michelle "Periwinkle Party"

It's hard to believe this is the very last day of 2018--and the last post of this year for the 12 Kits of Occasions! It is also with sadness that we are saying goodbye to two members of our team. Sweet Jessica Davis, The Paper Parade, who has been with the group from the beginning will be stepping down for now. She and her family are moving and beginning some new adventures that will be her new focus. And our super talented friend, Michele Ferguson, who has shared her creative and witty designs with us for the past few years will also no longer be posting with us. You can continue to visit her blog, I Card Everyone!

We also are welcoming a new designer--Marcia Hill, Marcia's Stamping Pad. She is so talented and very sweet. I was lucky to actually met her recently when she came to Kansas for a crafting event. Be sure to visit her blog and welcome her and take a few minutes to enjoy a few of her recent posts!

Our wonderful hostess this month is Michelle Leone, Pretty Periwinkles, I loved her fabulous kit with awesome colors and many images, die cuts and papers that were gorgeous and so easy to design with as well! My cards just seemed to make themselves, a blessing with the hectic holiday activities that always seem to compete with my crafty time! Thanks for an awesome kit, Michelle!

The 12 Kits of Occasions: December with Tracey "It's Christmas"

We're just a tad bit late this month due to a problem with the Canadian mail service. This month's wonderful hostess, Tracey, In My Creative Opinion, lives in Canada and we were unable to get her kits at the usual time. But they were well worth the wait! I loved all the fabulous supplies she sent. See the wonderful photo below for a glimpse of all the goodies--adorable images, great die cuts and an amazing collection of patterned papers. I'm late completing all the Christmas cards that I plan to send so it was a blessing to receive a whole new supply of products. I had been looking at ordering the MFT dog set so was especially happy to be able to try those out. It's definitely on my wish list now!

The November 12 Kits of Occasions has been delayed!

This month Tracey is our host and with a month long strike by Canada Post,  the kits did not make it into the hands of the teams in time to post today, the last day of the month, as we usually do.

Once everyone has received their kits we will be announcing a new and special date that we will be posting our It's Christmas kit creations!

The 12 Kits of Occasions: "Happy Fall Y'All"

I'm so happy to have you visit this month! I love fall and have enjoyed that I got to be this month's hostess. Another thing I enjoy is creating with lots of little critters and MFT provided two wonderful new sets that were perfect for the kit. The two little girls in Fall Friends have become favorites! Hopefully the other designers found them fun too. I know you will find lots of inspiration when you visit all their blogs.

In addition to MFT's great stamps, I found some amazing patterned papers at Michael's. I'm kind of addicted to those large paper packs that they sell at wonderful discounts. 

Thought I should have one CAS design using some patterned paper but couldn't resist adding the adorable little squirrel.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: September with Kim "Under & Over the Sea"

Welcome to another reveal by The 12 Kits of Occasions! We are winding down our year and have a wonderful kit created by Kim at Cupcakes, Cards and Kim. She has been a member of the group from the very beginning and always sends fabulous supplies to get our creative juices flowing. This month is a water theme from time spent relaxing in a pool to visiting some of the ocean's magical creatures! I adore the sweet mermaids and fun otters. And I was so lucky to actually see sea otters on a trip to California a couple of years ago! No mermaids though!! );

The 12 Kits of Occasions: August with Birgit "Fairy Tales"

This is such a fun month for us in The 12 Kits of Occasions group. We had a chance to put aside all the daily activities and join together at a playground with gnomes and fairies and all things magical! We even met a dragon or two!

Our talented and super sweet hostess is Birgit at Crafting While I Wait. This month was even more special to me as hubby and I just returned from a trip to Maine. And part of our visit included breakfast with Birgit and her very sweet husband. I had never been to New England before and have totally fallen in love with Maine! We were looking for birds so spent much of the time hiking through wonderful wooded areas and on two boat trips. And yes, that included whales and puffins!

Birgit included so many wonderful stamped images and fabulous dies. These especially reminded me of Maine. Loved all the ferns, mushrooms and amazing wild flowers. Along the path one day were many tiny fairy houses. And who could prove whether they were made by visitors or some of the tiny folk that lived there!

I added a couple of images from Fish in the Reef, a stamp set by Marianne Design. You can barely see the embossed bubbles or her shiny scales!

Isn't a glass of wine a perfect addition to a happy day!

The12 Kits of Occasions: July with Marybeth "Summer and More"

We're back with our July posts and even more summer fun!! And the hostess for the 12 Kits of Occasions this month is the sweet and extremely talented Marybeth from Marybeth's Time for Paper. See Lindsey's wonderful collage below to get a peek at all the fantastic goodies. I adore Purple Onion  so was thrilled to open my kit and find all these charming images. Marybeth even fussy cut many of them so they were ready to color if we wished! Oh, and there were gorgeous fuchsias from Pretty Pink Posh, especially fun to color! Thank you, Marybeth, for a wonderful kit!!

Celebrate One Cupcake at a Time!

I've been playing with my wonderful new The Cat's Pajamas supplies. I was so lucky to win last month's challenge! Here is one of the adorable bunnies ready for a birthday party. This is for a friend's birthday and since it's a summer birthday, I was able to use some fun paper I had in my stash--lots of yummy watermelons. There was even a pattern that worked for the paper-pieced cupcake and an envelope liner. There's still lots of time to enter this month's "Summer" Challenge. It goes until the end of the month.

Stamp set is TCP One Bunny. The sentiment is from PTI. And inside I used the sentiment that came with the bunny "Celebrate One Cupcake at a Time". Colored with Copics.

"Outdoors" at The Cat's Pajamas

Here is a VERY late entry to the current challenge at The Cat's Pajamas. I have been coloring some of the images from my newest set. There are three adorable images in Live More. Today I colored with Prismacolors and stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant. A PTI die helped add a little trim to the image. The watercolor-look paper is from a pad called Melon Patch that I found at Micheal's.

Summer fun and a day at the beach! Little bunny is having a great day making his castle, pretty good don't you think! I absolutely love all the images in this Live More set that was released last month at The Cat's Pajamas. I was even lucky enough to win a gift certificate during the release too. I had purchased a pad of paper at Michael's ages ago with wonderful ocean patterns that were perfect for my cards. Both are colored with Prismacolor pencils. And both sentiments are from Hero Arts Monthly Kit June 2018.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: May with Nancy "You're a Good Egg"

What a fun month! Our hostess is Nancy, Artful Notions and she sent us an amazing kit of farm related images and sentiments. She even raises chickens! Being a city girl I am always fascinated with what it would have been like to live on a farm as my husband did. Nancy included fun little critters that I was able to enjoy coloring. And there was the most amazing set from Stampin' Up that featured clever chicken images. They were such a joy to use. I was even able to save one to use after seeing what the other 12 Kits members make!  Included was also wonderful papers and embellishments that coordinated with the theme.
