Warmed by Your Friendship: PDCC #65

SECOND POST TODAY! A little late but I'm getting my PDCC card posted!!
If you were looking for the PTI Blog Hop card, please scroll down.
Do you ever buy patterned paper that just catches your eye but you have no idea where you will use it--actually IF you will ever use it! This paper was sold in the Christmas paper section last fall. I was at my LSS and a lady from out of town was looking for certain patterns and I was helping her. I saw this paper and mentioned to her "I have to have this". Of course, it has been tucked away in the drawer since then. SO when looking through stamps and papers recently, I first saw the sentiment and then thought of the 'sheep' paper! Decided it would work for this week's Play Date Cafe Color Challenge. Even hubby said it was cute!

Hope you enjoy my whimsical entry!

Thanks so much for allowing me to share.
Smiles,
Sharron

PTI January Blog Hop

This month's hop is highlighting PTI sets that have seen little or no ink and are in need of a little love. I have had this Quilter's Sampler Additions set since it came out and probably used it once or twice. I also have a pad of Guidelines 1 Grid Sheets paper that was used once.  When I decided to use this stamp set for my card for Katie Renz and began stamping I realized how easy it was to create a pattern and I ended up making this card also.

One of my goal is to begin using my often hoarded patterned paper! This is an Ocean Tides sheet from Friends 'Til the End. I really like Ocean Tides with Berry Sorbet so the Waltzingmouse hearts are cut from BS cardstock. I used those because I like the stitching around the edges. The sentiment is from the same WM set, Sewing Box: Hugs.

For the quilted effect I first tried an impression plate but the image was light so I went through my embossing folders and chose Sugar by Sizzix. I altered the sandwich so it would not give the usual deep impression and it worked really well--very cloth-like IRL!

Supplies
Stamps: Quilter's Sampler Additions (PTI), Sewing Box: Hugs (Waltzingmouse)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White
Patterned Paper: Friends 'Til the End (PTI)
Dies: Double-ended Banners, Banner Borders Die (both PTI)
Additional: Inks (Ocean Tides, Berry Sorbet-PTI), Aqua Mist Button (PTI), Copics (R20, R22, BG10, BG72), White Embroidery Thread

Now I'm off to enjoy the hop!
Have fun,
Sharron

Time to Party!

How about a 'no special occasion' party card! Just wanted to try out this Verve set. And I thought this might be a great guy card to have on hand. The balloons are such fun and so easy to color. I cut another frame from Plaid embossed Hawaiian Shores cardstock. I guess you can tell I really like this die combination (see recent posts!).

How has your week been? We had freezing rain last night. It started just as I left for my Zumba class and the car was all iced over when I got out. After much scraping and driving at a snail's pace, I made it home safely. I don't mind snow but the ice is just too scary. Luckily today is warmer and sunny so hopefully the weekend with be clear.

Thanks for stopping by,
Sharron

Papertrey Peeps Challenge #23: A Thank You to Terri!!

Hi all! Time for a new PTI Peeps challenge--the first in 2011 and we were to make a thank you card. So this card is for Terri! She is the one who set up the blog for us and does all those routine tasks that keep it running so smoothly. She also tracks all the birthdays and posts those beautiful cakes. Thank you many times over, Terri, for being such a dear and supportive member of the Peeps.

I wanted to do the card in some of Terri's favorite colors so I am hoping the turquoise and red are good choices! The design is pretty simple but I am so enjoying the many new dies available from PTI so used some of my favorites. I tried something new (for me) with the embossing folder and embossed the unfolded card a little off center of the middle so part of it shows on the back of the card. I decided to add a sentiment just below the embossing on the inside and this still leaves room for a little note at the bottom. The sentiment on the front is my first Verve stamp. After Rhonda posted a note about their end of the year sale, I thought this would be a perfect time to sample her stamps. I have especially admired the beautiful sentiments so ended up buying three sets and they really are wonderful!

Thanks for visiting! Terri, I am mailing your card to you by snail mail today--along with another big thanks and lots of HUGS!
