The 12 Kits of Occasions: August

Lots of exciting changes have occurred with the 12 Kits since I last posted. First, we have a new name! While discussing plans for 2014, everyone felt we should expand our schedule to include months featuring additional special occasions. We will still be doing Christmas, just not as much. Probably most exciting is we now have our own blog, The 12 Kits of Occasions!! Sign up to follow us--you never know what surprises we will have in store for you each month. We will have some sneak peeks before the releases and on release day you can find a special project from each of the designers. There may be special posts throughout the month too.

This month our fabulous hostess is Amy, Stamp-n-Paradise! You will find a picture of all the wonderful supplies she sent in this month's kit plus a list of supplies over on The 12 Kits of Occasions blog. And she has also posted information about a little blog candy that will be given away! You won't want to miss out on the drawing!

One of the my favorites in the kit was this fantastic twine!! LOVE the two colors, so perfect for Christmas! I know I'll be needing more of this! Plus Amy included a couple of mini cards complete with envelopes. For the first one I used a tree die from WPlus9 and glued twine against the negative opening.

I used lots of the fabulous paper for my cards!!

Sadly this is Jeanne's last month with our group. She has some other commitments that will be taking quite a bit of her time so she is stepping down, at least for now. We're all wishing her the best!

So Cathy, Empty Nest Crafter, will be taking her spot. Cathy was with our original group and we are so lucky to have her return. Welcome back, Cathy! See you next month.

Happy Birthday, Marybeth!

Two wonderful friends, Joyce (Card by the Sea) and Cathy (Empty Nest Crafter), were so sweet to plan this blog hop to celebrate Marybeth's (Marybeth's Time for Paper) birthday.  Well, it's really a belated birthday party since her birthday was earlier this month but who wouldn't want two parties! So Marybeth, we hope you have a wonderful repeat celebration! Just want you to know how much we all love you. I feel so very fortunate to have met you through this crazy little stamping hobby! For my card I used my new PTI 'birthday' die that I have wanted for ages and it just came in the mail and a Mama Elephant set that is one of my favorites. I couldn't decide on colors so went to Nichole Heady's blog where she has posted color combos for the upcoming Blog Hop. Her inspiration photo is a layered cake and while the above picture is different, it looked like something you might enjoy for your celebration.

Guess Who's 3!!!

Hey, Lil' Inker---Happy Birthday!!! There's a celebration going on over at the Lil' Inker blog--and there are prizes! So you won't want to miss out!!

I wanted to do a card with all Lil' Inker products but then decided to add the embossing too. I love using rainbows for birthdays. Actually, I just love rainbows!! So I got out my rainbow, sun & cloud dies and used a couple of wonderful Lil' Inker sentiments. And of course, my stitched rectangles and circles. I don't think there is any other thing that I use more often than the stitched rectangles dies. Now I just need to get the squares!! 

Here's looking forward to another wonderful year for Lil' Inker Designs---and even more fabulous products!!!!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Carnival Craze

Imagine a carnival and a hot air balloon ride on your birthday! One of the cutest balloon images is from WMS so I chose this one for the new Curtain Call Challenge. Looks like she's enjoying her ride!! Also I love when I can paper piece an image and this one was super easy.

Congrats to the Happy Couple

Quick post this morning--no challenge, just needed a wedding card! And I got to use my new WPlus9 feather dies--LOVE!! I was up very late last night deciding on a design and finally came up with this. Thanks to Kara, KandRdesigns, for the idea of 'dipping' the feathers! Sorry the silver is so hard to photograph--looks so pretty IRL!!
