The 12 Kits of Occasions: June with Joyce "Birthdays to Die 'Cut' For"

One of my most needed type of cards is birthdays. So what a treat when I received my kit for the June 12 Kits of Occasions. Joyce, our wonderful hostess, sent an amazing collection of die cuts, stamped images and sentiments plus some great papers---all designed for this month's theme "birthdays! Gosh, there were so many cool options. And, as always, I still have lots left for creating later! Thank you, Joyce, for a really fun month. And one of the great things about using die cuts is that cards come together so quickly. :)

I DON'T KNOW THE NAME OF THIS EMBOSSING FOLDER THAT I GOT ON SALE FROM A LOCAL SCRAPBOOK STORE BUT I DID FIND OUT THAT IT DOESN'T DO WELL USING LIGHTWEIGHT CARDSTOCK. AFTER TWO SHREDDED VERSIONS, I SWITCHED TO 100 LB. CARDSTOCK FROM WPLUS9.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: May with Sharron "Here Comes the Sun"

Hi all! It's once again time for a 12 Kits of Occasions reveal! This month we are enjoying the end of another school year and the official beginning of summer. I am this month's hostess and thought an appropriate theme would be summer, sun and fun! A special thanks to Lindsey for doing this fabulous collage of the kit contents (see below). A complete list can be found on the 12 Kits blog HERE. I chose stamps with a summer or tropical theme from three different companies and added some papers that had a watercolored look.

We don't have a guest designer this month but I have put together an extra kit that will be mailed to one lucky winner! Just leave comments on the various blogs as well as on the 12 Kits blog for a chance to win. The deadline is June 8.

The 12 Kits of Occasions: April with Tracey "Crazy for Coffee"

Love this month's theme for our 12 Kits of Occasions! Tracey, from In My Creative Opinion, decided on "Crazy for Coffee", featuring my favorite beverage. I may drink too much but the current opinion is that it is good for your health so I have something to justify my obsession! But I didn't have any coffee-related stamps so this was a perfect chance to try out supplies from several different companies. The photo below shows some of the supplies included in our kits. Tracey sent lots of fun die cuts, stamped sentiments and wonderful patterned papers, all in the most appropriate colors! My favorite item was the awesome bear from Ellen Hutson. Isn't he adorable! The 12 Kits of Occasions: March with Michelle "Spring Fling"

Hi all! It's that time again, the very last day of the month, and members of the 12 Kits group are here to share their latest creations. Also again this month, one of our newest members is the hostess. Both of this year's brand new members were willing to put together kits right away--yeah! Michelle Leone, Pretty Periwinkles, is March's talented hostess and her theme is Spring Fling! We were even able to squeeze in some Easter designs, some of which might have already been shared with family and friends!

There is always so much to see so I want to keep my post short. You are going to love all the wonderful supplies Michelle sent. See the photo below. There were many fabulous (some just released) stamp images plus really great die cuts. The colors and pretty spring patterned papers were such fun to work with and Michelle included great embellishments too. Thanks so much for an awesome kit, Michelle!!

For my first card I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire recently posted called Vellum Panel Card. I loved this concept and will use it again. I couldn't cut my circle at an angle however since my Cuttlebug wouldn't allow it. Perhaps just another reason that I need a Big Shot!

Below is a peek inside so you can see how the patterned paper is used. I used just a partial sheet to allow for a blank space for writing.

A Surprise Happy Birthday Party for Kim!!!

Hi Kim, hope you are having a truly beautiful day! Thanks to one of your special friends, Kylie at Kylie is Addicted to Stamps, we are all getting together to wish you a very happy birthday! This card will be coming in the mail to you. It's all gold and shiny which unfortunately just doesn't photograph well. Sending birthday hugs along too!!

Kim and I have been on the 12 Kits of Occasions team since the beginning and I never tire of seeing all of her wonderful creations. Besides making awesome cards and other paper projects, she sews beautifully too! And not only is she very talented but she's extra sweet too!!

My card is made with a WPlus9 set, Doodle Buds, and watercolored. It doesn't show in the picture but the border strip design is all in gold as are the stamped stems and the gold embossed sentiment. An enamel dot was added to the one center. I am submitting this to the March CAS Mix Up as well as this week's CAS-ology where the cue word is Doodle!

The 12 Kits of Occasions: February with Nancy "Watercolor Wonder"

Besides being the last day of the month, this year we are here on February 29th! Leap year--a year with an extra day to craft!! Our two new 12 Kits members have jumped right in and agreed to host this month and next. For February, Nancy Penir, Artful-Notions, graciously said she would be hostess. And she picked a fantastic theme. Watercolors have been so popular and she sent oodles of great supplies, even paints, brushes and masking fluid. This was in addition to stamped images on watercolor paper, gorgeous patterned papers, die cuts and embellishments. See the photo below!

Guess we forgot to tell her she didn't need to spoil us so much!! I used the paints she sent along with some of my own to mix and match colors. The 12 Kits of Occasions: January 2016 with Lindsey "Celebrating You"

Hi all and also a happy new year! This is the first post of the 12 Kits of Occasions for 2016. And we have wonderful news. We have two new members!! Nancy Penir, Artful Notions, and Michelle Leone, Pretty Periwinkles, are with us starting this month. We are SO excited to have them and their wonderful talents. Several of us have been together for the past several years and while we have sadly lost a few members, we have been fortunate to fill the slots with some of the most fantastic stampers.

Our hostess is once again Lindsey, Occasional Crafting. If you visited last month, you saw Lindsey's December kit. And what a kit! I had such fun and then surprise, I got another absolutely awesome kit in the mail! There were so many papers, die cuts and embellishments. Oh, and lots of fantastic glitter and sparkle! Because of getting ready for vacation, I only made five cards but I could have made many, many more. I feel like we should be celebrating Lindsey for TWO months of AMAZING kits!! Thank you so much, Lindsey!
