The 12 Kits of Holidays: July

It's that time again!! The last day of the month is that special day when each member of the 12 Kits group gets to share what they made with the fantastic supplies that were mailed out the first of the month. We are now on the 19th month with this amazing concept and I feel just as excited each month when my kit arrives as I did the first time. This month the theme is Birthdays and our wonderful hostess is Christina, SeaGlass Papercrafts. Thanks, Christina, for making this month seem like a party! Your kit was awesome!!

The photo below, taken by our very talented photographer, Kara, gives you a snapshot of the gorgeous goodies we received. I LOVED the papers and all the great elements--every one so perfect for a birthday celebration. I instantly had so many ideas of things to make and only time kept me from making more cards than I have posted.

Christina send us several sentiments with parts embossed in gold. I wish the gold on the 'SPECIAL' photographed better but it is gorgeous IRL! I had seen a similar card, which I loved, using banners with a sentiment and using wood hearts some time ago . Unfortunately I can't remember where and on whose blog but to whoever you are, thanks for the inspiration!

My last two cards are almost alike but still I bit different. I made these for our granddaughers' birthday. They were 10 on Sunday!!

You can find a complete list of supplies on Christina's blog. I did add a few items: the wood veneer butterflies, the sentiment on the third card which is from PTI Strictly Sentiments-Birthdays and the tiny bow on the last two cards. It is from Lil' Inkers Flip Flop dies.

Below is the list of all the other 12 Kits participants. Don't miss any of the blogs. There is always wonderful things to see.

Thanks so much for visiting! We'll see you next month when our hostess will be Amy, Stamp-N-Paradise.

The 12 Kits of Holidays: June

Is it HOT where you are? Maybe a dose of Winter will help! Our 12 Kits group is focusing on Christmas/Winter this month and our wonderful hostess is Jeanne, A Kept Life. Our little group has been going strong for 18 months now! We started out making Christmas/Holiday cards each month so we could try to spread our holiday projects throughout the year but have alternated our schedule this year with cards for other occasions. But for this month, it's Christmas!!

Jeanne makes the most beautiful cards--created with awesome papers and the most amazing embellishments. She's super with CAS too though!! Below is a peek at all the supplies we got in the mail at the first of the month. Doesn't this just make you drool!! Thank you so much, Jeanne! The kit was wonderful and so easy to work with--loved how quickly things just came together and I have lots of goodies left!!

This month we also have a very special guest designer! Cathy, Empty Nest Crafter, was in our group all last year but had some job conflicts. We've missed you, Cathy! But it's wonderful to have you back for this month. Can't wait to see what you've made!!

So, on with the hop! There's lots to see so be sure to visit all the blogs listed below.

For my first card, think SNOW!! I used Lil' Inker Stitched Rectangles to give a more homespun feel. Loved the sweet little girl (which I colored with Copics)--and the lace!

This one is done in neutrals using fabulous WPlus9 stamped images and that cool paper that were included in the kit.

More WPlus9 goodies! I did use one WMS stamp from Santa's Coming to Town that wasn't included
I wanted something for the corner and thought it fit!!

Thanks so much for coming by and letting us share our creations! Hope everyone has a safe and comfortable weekend!

Sharron

A list of supplies can be found on Jeanne's blog. If you have any questions about anything on my cards, just let me know.

The 12 Kits of Holidays: May

THEME: GET WELL, THANK YOU, THINKING OF YOU
It's the last day of the month and time for another 12 Kits reveal!! Since we are alternating other holidays with Christmas this year, May is a non-Christmas month. The theme is a little different though--not a holiday but a mix of get well, thank you and thinking of you. Our fabulous hostess is Marybeth, Marybeth's Time For Paper.  She does the most beautiful work--I can't wait to see what she made with her own kit. This kit was SO amazing! I have tons left over and still have lots of ideas of what I would like to make. Plus I will see even more inspiration as I visit everyone's blog. Kara took this great picture! It gives you some idea of all the goodies we had to play with.

I love to color and was super excited when I saw the flowers she included. Luckily I didn't use them all so I will be making some more soon!

Isn't this little guy sweet! Yellow umbrellas make me smile!! BTW, the raindrops are a Memory Box die called A Little Rain

This is my Split Pea Soup card! A dear friend of mine is currently undergoing chemo treatments and so finding food that agrees with her body is a challenge. Her nutritionist suggested a recipe that looks like split pea soup. It has the peas plus lots of other healthy stuff but when she told me about it my instant response was "yuck"! I don't like split pea soup and neither does she! But as her taste buds aren't working and the consistency is good, she has learned to enjoy it. So Marybeth's cute Comfort Food images work great for a card for her. And I found the red heart button in my stash--thought it would be perfect!

Lastly, I absolutely LOVE this little owl! Marybeth used him recently on a card for Joyce and I was so glad to see him included in our kits. Since he has on his party hat, I thought he would be a great birthday card. My sentiment is from a Verve set called Big Wish.

I'm sure you are as anxious as I am to see what everyone else has made, so all the links are below. A list of supplies is available on Marybeth's blog. I did use a few additional items of my own and if you have questions about anything, just let me know.

Enjoy the hop and thanks for coming by!
Have a great day,
Sharron

12 Kits of Holidays: April

Welcome to another addition of the 12 Kits of Holidays monthly reveals. As you may know, this year we are switching things up and doing other holidays in addition to Christmas but this month we are back to Christmas. Are you excited to see what everyone made? I know I am! I was this month's hostess so the kit was one I sent to everyone at the first of April. I always look forward to reveals but it's especially fun when it's your kit. I love seeing how everyone interpreted the supplies. And I have to admit I hoarded some of the patterned paper so I would be ready to CASE a few things!!!

So here's the kit!

And here are my four cards. The images came from stamp sets by Renee Mullins at Plum Purdy Designs. She specializes in tole painting patterns but a while back she turned some of her fabby images into stamps. I found her site when I first started stamping and had just started my blog. LOVE her whimsical designs and would love to see her do some more stamps! Plus I like to color. And fortunately I have a few more Copics today than back in 2009! Oh, and you might notice, I'm a bit addicted to Lil' Inker dies!

LOVE this Santa!! I used a layout based on one used by JJ Bolton in a recent Waltzingmouse Flower Show hop. Very cool!

Well, I don't want to keep you. There is lots to see so be sure to check out all the other blogs. Just click on the links below. You should find lots of inspiration; and if you haven't started on your Christmas cards, there is no better time than NOW!!

Enjoy the hop and thanks so much for sharing in the party,
Sharron

The 12 Kits of Holidays: February

It's that time again! And this month we're using our kit to get ready for a Country Christmas, hosted by the wonderfully talented Renee, It's a Patchwork Life!

Renee filled our kits with SO many fabulous goodies--gorgeous papers, die cuts, fun Waltzingmouse stamped images, ribbons and a wonderful assortment of embellishments. Gosh, I used such a small amount which means I will have plenty to play with after seeing what the other members of our group have created! If you don't know about the 12 Kits, we started last year making cards and projects for Christmas and have altered our schedule this year to include some other holidays. HERE is a link to my original post.

I LOVE plaid so I used every inch of the sheet in the kit!! The fun sentiment was cut out with the PTI Tag Sale #3 die.

For this card, I used an Lifestyle embossing folder from a set called Zig Zag!

Isn't this star wonderful! It's from a set by Waltzingmouse called Yonder Star. Those little die cut border
pieces are cut with Spellbinders Classic Edger Two die.

And this is my 'just for fun' card! I used the pieces left from the die cut whimsical tree to decorate the top. Some peridot glitter by Martha Stewart helped the tree stand out a bit more. And here is my last sliver of plaid!!

Enjoy the hop! I always love seeing what everyone made with the kit. And thanks for stopping here to let me share my creations. We'll have another party on the last day of March--perhaps a different holiday. You'll have to come back to find out which one!!

See you then,
Sharron

The 12 Kits of Holidays: January

Hi all! You might want to get a cup of coffee or tea and sit back and enjoy our monthly post! There is a lot to see and we have some changes to tell you about. Did you notice we have a new name? That's just one of changes! First of all, you may already know we lost two dear members of our group, Suzanne, The Card Yard, and Cathy, The Empty Nest Crafter. They each have had some life changes and had to step down but both still have active blogs so be sure to follow them there. We'll miss you!! We also have two new very creative people joining us--Tracey, In My Creative Opinion, and Kelly, Gingham Girl. Please join us and give a big welcome to both of them!!!

We have also reevaluated our original plan to make only Christmas projects. While it is wonderful to have 11 months (we did one month dedicated to Hanukkah--thank you, Joyce) of Christmas cards ready to mail out well before the holidays, we also all ended up with quite a supply of leftovers. Enough to make many more cards than we posted. So, this year we are doing a mixture of Christmas with other holidays/occasions. Hope you enjoy the variety!!

To start us out, our hostess this month is Joyce, Cards-by-the-Sea, and she sent us the most amazing kit full of Valentine goodies. I LOVED this kit! Thank you so much, Joyce. This has been such a fun month! The photo below was taken by Kara who graciously continues to provide us with wonderful pictures each month.

I'm posting my cards in the order they were made. I instantly knew I would use the panel cut with the Memory Box Piestra Tile die. And I adore the stamped image that looks like heart wildflowers.

This next card uses a piece of the wonderful patterned paper punched with an EK Success Open Scallop Edger. Space was left for the bold sentiment and I added one of the great hearts Joyce sent.

All these elements were provided in the kit--just a matter of arranging and gluing them in place. I used the tiny hearts that came from the envelopes I used for the next card.

This next card was fun--love the wonderful little envelopes die cuts. I did use a couple of die cuts from my First Class Friend Die-namics by My Favorite Things.

For this card, I embossed the main panel with PTI's Woodgrain Impression Plate. I used a PTI cloud die to cut the sentiment and had to add a couple of birds from my new Rested Birds dies by Memory Box. These are the cutest little dies and I'm sure they will be used a lot!

My last card I made yesterday morning. I have been following Joyce and some of the other people in the Clean and Simple Cardmaking class. They were featuring debossing and I wanted to try it out. I wasn't sure about a sandwich so I checked Nichole Heady's blog and she had mentioned using the same one as for impression plates so that is what I did. Along with Joyce's supplies, I used WPlus9 stacked hearts, a few pearls, and a couple more of my new birds! I love the look and can see doing this more often.

Well, I've talked way more than I should have. You will want to see all the other fabulous projects so start on your journey by clicking on the sites below. We'll be back again next month with a Country Christmas hosted by Renee.

Have a wonderful time and thanks so much for visiting!
Sharron
