12 Kits of Occasions: September "Celebrating Halloween"

It's that time again! The last day of each month is when the 12 Kits of Occasions group reveals what everyone made with this month's kit. And this month is full of lots of fun and spooky Halloween projects! Our hostess is Kim, Cupcakes, Cards and Kim. Halloween is a very favorite holiday for Kim and she always posts the best cards and projects. So if you're looking for some inspiration for this year's projects, be sure to check Kim's blog during October.

But today is the day to check the 12 Kits creations. Here is a peek from my card that you can find over on the 12 Kits of Occasions blog here. You will also find links to all the other blogs plus a photo and list of the supplies that Kim included in our kits. Wow, they are awesome!! And this month we have a special Guest Designer, Darnell from djkardkreations. I can't wait to see what great things she has made plus you never know what fun little tidbits she might share with you when you drop in at her blog.

Well, Halloween is a lot about the candy but also those 'creepies' that jump, fly and screech in the night. So come with us on our Halloween Hop! Hope you have a spooktacular time!!!!

Loved this paper and those great die cut spiders. I had so much fun with my card that I made a bookmark to match! The eyes are Orange Peel Stickles. I also added sentiments from Hocus Pocus and Cicely at Halloween sets by Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Thanks, Kim---you kit was amazing! I loved playing with all the fabulous papers, die cuts and sentiments. And as is usually the case with all our kits, there are still plenty of supplies to make even more Halloween goodies. So you never know when additional creations may show up over on the 12 Kits blog!!

Wishing everyone a fabulous Fall and a Happy and Safe Halloween!

CASology #15: NIGHT

I thought another Halloween card would be appropriate for the NIGHT theme at CASology! This set from Taylored Expressions was one of my first Halloween sets and I love the eyes on the spooky tree. I stamped that section several times on gold cardstock so I could cut out the eyes. The little owl is also in that set and I did his eyes the same way. The tree is done in gray so it's more shadowy---hopefully you can see the detail well enough. The card base in also gray. I liked Amy Kolling's, Stamp-N-Paradise, idea of using some chevron die pieces in the same color for a little texture. Thanks, Amy! Amy is this week's Guest Designer!
I'm really enjoying these new challenges. Details on this week's theme plus samples from the Design Team can be found HERE. You still have time to enter!

Thanks for stopping by,
Sharron

Supplies

Embellish Color Challenge: Using Squares

I really like these colors from this week's Embellish Challenge--but at first couldn't seem to get anything I tried to click. This is try #2! Perfect colors for Halloween and I love this little image from Taylored Expressions called Spooky Expressions. I used the spider web image to create my own background paper, added a few squares, a sentiment and some embroidery thread for a really quick and easy card! The kettle is paper pieced and the rest of the image is colored with Copics and highlighted with a white Gelly Roll marker and some orange stickles. The 'bubbles' on the bottom are Rain Dots in black and green. Cardstock is all from PTI (Soft Stone, True Black, Simply Chartreuse, Plum Pudding and Stamper's Select White).

Halloween designs are always such fun!
Smiles,
Sharron

Kazan's Sketch 37

Another Halloween card and a new challenge! I found this new blog yesterday--looks like lots of fun! Before I started my blog I mainly make cards for family and friends. I never took many photos or shared them with fellow stampers so it is exciting to expand my world and work on developing my stamping design skills. And I have so much to learn! I love checking the other sketches and sometimes just playing with designs before coming up with something I am satisfied enough with to actually take a photo. I know I have a long way to go before measuring up to the many fabulous creations that I often see but I am having a ball! Hope you enjoy!
