Time Out Challenge #88: Inspired by Words

My first ever Time Out challenge is inspired by Roald Dahl's children's novel "Twits"

"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely."

I thought of this sweet image by Sassy Cheryl and the sentiment she used for a title. It is a quote from Marilyn Monroe. Love this adorable little girl! I used a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pens to color her and then added a few hearts cut from metallic paper with a Mama Elephant die. The border was cut from WPlus9's Sunshine Layers Dies. My sentiment is computer generated.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I can't believe I have posted three times in the past few days!!

Darnell's NBUS #8

Still having fun playing with digital images! This is for Darnell's NBUS #8 challenge. A very special one too as this is Darnell's 5th Blog Birthaversary!! It's really an honor to help her celebrate. Plus I have so many supplies that would qualify. That's a great reason to keep a New Year's resolution to not keep ordering so much! I'm really enjoying the colored pencils though and have just worked on an order for more. Supplies shouldn't count--right!!

I've used an image from Sassy Cheryl's called Gabby's Marvelous Adventure. I have a weakness for anything with books or a reading theme and sometimes buy things that then get added to my never ending stash. This was one of those! The sentiment is from another SC image. I have never used any paper but white before so this was a first.

Your visit is always a blessing. Thanks for coming by,

Sharron

CAS(E) This Sketch #203

I've been doing some cards with digital images lately and made this one for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch. One of the things I like about digitals is the ability to resize the images. The image is Let Your Heart Sing by Sassy Cheryl. The sentiment is also computer generated. Coloring was done with Copics. The little music notes are from Birds of a Feather by PTI, currently in their Vault.

Thank you so much for taking time to visit. Love seeing your comments!

CAS-ology: Story "Chapter 2"!

I am really down to the wire with this CAS-ology post but I just finished coloring it and wanted to include it with this week's challenge. The image is a digital one from Sassy Cheryl's Good Read-Maddie (colored with Copics) and the sentiment is from Mo Manning. I wanted to add something in the blank space on the book front and found this sentiment in PTI's Tiny Tags. It 'almost' fits perfectly! The border is a die cut from WPlus9's Sunshine Layers. I love that die set!

Hope your week is off to a great start! Maybe you will find some relaxing time to enjoy a good book!

Thanks for dropping by,
Sharron

Happy Birthday!!!

Hello, sweet friends! I am trying very hard to get caught up on all the blog comments I have been so remiss in doing. And I've challenged myself to post more this month! So I thought it would fun to first post some birthday cards. These are two I made for birthdays for two of our granddaughters.

This one is using Mama Elephant Origami. Aren't those little animals adorable! I selected the fox for one of our granddaughters card who just turned nine. Included in her birthday gift was an origami book. I always try to match cards to something in their gifts so this set was perfect. The sentiment is from PTI. Several layers of the die cut add a little dimension as do the pinked squares from WPlus9.

My second card is for Elizabeth who just turned seven last week. Part of her gift included an outfit with two tops from Gymboree, my favorite place to shop for the little ones. Her favorite color is orange and one of the tees has a bright summer theme to go with her orange skort.

So of course her card had to have a sun!

This is a digital image from Sassy Cheryl Digital Stamps. I used the SSS curved die given to me by a sweet friend, Kara from KandRDesigns. The sentiment from MFT was embossed in gold.

Wishing everyone a great week!
Sharron

Happy Birthday Papertrey!!

No one has parties quite like PTI and this week they have been celebrating turning "7"!! There are always lots of contests and today's is to create a project featuring a word. Actually this card is for my niece who is turning "8" so I added a digital image from Sassy Cheryl Digital Stamps. The rest of my supplies are PTI products, except the enamel dots.

I try to match cards with gifts I am sending and this card matches the hair ribbon clip that goes with a top I bought her.

I made the 'Happy' with eight layers of cardstock--Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush and a Dark Chocolate center!

Visit Nichole's blog to find the details about today's contest and see samples of some of the awesome new products being released on the 15th!

Have a great day,
Sharron

Back to School

I discovered a whole new world of sweet images recently at Sassy Cheryl's Stamps--so perfect for coloring! I got three at her recent Labor Day sale and wanted to use this one for the Back to School challenges--Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge and CAS-ual Fridays #114

Love this quote too! Mine is computer generated and I used another of my new fun toys tools--Picmonkey--to create the lined version. I never could figure the ins and outs of Photoshop Elements so thanks to a recommendation from a 12 Kits friend, this is a real lifesaver.

Hope she makes you smile,
Sharron
