The 12 Kits of Occasions: October with Sharron "Autumn Days"

WONDERFUL PHOTO BY LINDSEY

Hi all! We're here with another 12 Kits of Occasions reveal. It's also one day early as we always post early in October - due to all the Halloween festivities. And I'm your hostess this month! I always love fall and all the gorgeous colors that make the world seem magical. Here in Kansas we finally have cooler temperatures and the ground is becoming covered with lots of those pretty leaves. I was lucky to find these wonderful patterned papers and fun images. Hope you enjoy your visits to all the designers' blogs. Just click HERE to be connected to the 12 Kits blog. There is also a supply list at the top of the blog in case you are interested in the supplies used.

Loved this Stamping Bella image!

Several turkeys were included but I only used one. I googled turkey photos to get an idea of colors.

If I could have multiples of any of the patterned papers it would be this one. Don't the leaves just shout "FALL"! The stamped and die cut leaves were a wonderful addition. I really liked the patterns and stamped each with a light ink. Using additional color (I used Copics) really brings out the patterns.

I have loved this Mo Manning/Penny Black image for a long time and took the opportunity to buy her for this month's kit. She is so precious and I felt like she worked as the only image on this card.

October arrives in a swirl of fragrant blue leaf smoke, the sweetness of slightly frosted MacIntosh apples, and little hard acorns falling. We are in the midst of cool crisp days, purple mists, and Nature recklessly tossing her whole palette of dazzling tones through fields and woodlands.

Hope you have a wonderful Fall!!

The 12 Kits of Occasions: September with Marybeth "Hello Fall"

It's that wonderful time of the month! Today is the last day of September and it's time for another 12 Kits of Occasions revel. Our sweet and very talented hostess this month is Marybeth from Marybeth's Time for Paper. Since I love fall, Marybeth's kit is a really special way to help celebrate. Her supplies capture the great colors so well. And there are amazing stamps and dies that go so well with the fabulous patterned papers! See the photo below to get a peek at some of the supplies.

Weather here is getting cooler and the trees are beginning to change. I can't imagine living where there aren''t four seasons!

Hope you enjoy the blogs this month and are able to enjoy the beauties of the season! Click HERE to go to the 12 Kits blog. A list of Marybeth's supplies can be found at the top, under Supplies for 2017.

I recently purchased several of PTI's Mix & Mat die sets and used them on several of my cards.

This design uses some partial die cutting with a PTI die and embossing with some woodgrain.

This sentiment was a tag included in the kit. A wonderful and easy way to create this card!

For this last card I added a cluster of leaves from a MFT's set for the puppy to jump in! I happened to have the die that Marybeth used for the white panel so I cut another out of the orange. The tree panel was also in the kit so I wanted to have the card open to show the tree and sentiment.

INSIDE OF CARD

Wasn't Marybeth's kit awesome! I particularly loved the fantastic sentiments! I even have another card partially done plus more goodies. Being in this group is always such a treat!!

Enjoy the hop! And thanks for letting us share,

Sharron

Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop

I have been wanting to do this Coffee Lovers Cardmakers challenge and, even though I am late, I had fun making this card. I know the main theme is coffee (which I love and drink perhaps too much) but I am using hot apple cider for my fall card. Hope this is okay!!

I did some embossing in gold and coloring with distress inks on patterned paper. The cup is done with Prismacolor pencils. Excuse the too red cinnamon stick! I'm still learning how best to use the pencils. The wonderful leave and the sentiment is from Concord and 9th. The cup is from Newton's Nook.

Thanks for dropping by,
Sharron

The Challenge: Week 4

I have had such fun with cards for The Challenge this month. This is Week 4, Challenge #79, and the inspiration is for a masculine design (see photo below). I have way too many stamp sets that haven't had any use so this was a perfect opportunity to get out two of the ones I recently ordered.

I'm still focused on fall and felt a masculine card with a popular fall sport would work with my new bear. Of course, I didn't have any football stamps so I made my own, maybe not perfect but worked for my card. I fussy cut the bear but wanted to use the cuts for the arms so I laid the fussy cut version inside the die and ran it through that way.

I did add some glossiness on the football and colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, something I haven't done before. No sequins on this one, just little wood-cut leaves!

Thanks so much for dropping by. I always love when you come to visit,

Sharron

The 12 Kits of Occasions: October--"I Fall to Pieces" with Jessica

We're back to our regular schedule this month and our wonderfully talented hostess is Jessica, The Paper Parade. Our theme is anything related to fall, Thanksgiving and thank you. I'm needing a bunch of thank you cards so I decided to do all of my cards with 'thank you' sentiments. The collage photo below was done this month by Tracey. Look at all the awesome colors! I just love this time of year.

Jessica's kit was just stuffed full of wonderful stamped images, patterned papers, embellishments and dies. I was especially excited about the images from Avery Elle's Red & Goldie. It's been on my wish list since it was released. So I loved having a chance to use the adorable little images! Thanks so much, Jessica--your kit was fantastic.

MORE ADORABLE IMAGES ARE FROM LAWN FAWN, LIKE THIS SWEET FOX.

I USED A STENCIL AND MODELING PASTE FOR THE HEARTS, THEN COLORED THEM WITH A DISTRESS INK MARKER.

THIS WOULD HAVE MADE A GREAT SHAKER CARD BUT I DID THE QUICK AND EASY VERSION!

STAMPED SENTIMENT & DIE CUT ARE FROM WPLUS9.

THIS STAMPED IMAGE HAD THE 'THANKS' IN WHITE BUT I DECIDED TO COLOR IT WITH A COPIC MARKER. IT CAME OUT GREAT AND LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A VELVET FINISH. SORRY IT DOESN'T SHOW WELL IN THE PHOTO. THE ADDED LEAVES ARE STITCHED LEAVES FROM LAWN FAWN, COLORED WITH DISTRESS MARKERS

Well, that's it for my cards this month. Sorry to be late posting but I have been so swamped for the past two weeks! To find links to all the other blogs, just click HERE to connect to the 12 Kits blog. A complete list of supplies can be found at the top of the post, under Monthly Kit Supplies.

Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog!

Smiles,
Sharron

12 Kits of Occasions: October 'Celebrating Autumn'

Another whole month has sped by and the 12 Kits group has switched our emphasis from Halloween to Autumn. Kara, KandRdesigns, is our hostess this month and above is the photo she took of her awesome kit. It was hard to stop with four cards as I have more already laid out and I haven't even seen what everyone else has made yet. I know there will even more that I will want to CASE! Fall is my favorite season and opening Kara's kit package was such a joy. Loved all the wonderful papers, the die cuts, fabulous embellishments and those gorgeous gold leaves! Thank you so much, Kara, for a truly amazing kit!!

To see all the other members' creations, click HERE and you will be taken to the 12 Kits of Occasions blog. There you will find sample projects and links to all the other blogs. Be sure to scroll down to see the wonderful give-away that Kara has provided. And don't forget to sign up for the drawing! There is also a list of kit supplies provided.

My first card uses the house from PTI's Autumn Hills. The patterned paper under the house was a piece from my stash---loved the pumpkins. Kara included three die cut words and I used one here with 'for friends' from PTI's First Fruits. I added glitter to the cut-out pumpkins here and the tree below but just can't seem to capture the sparkle with my camera!

Here again I stamped a sentiment from Fresh Fruits. LOVE Kara's gold leaves and that fantastic woodgrain paper from Avery Elle!

PTI's Take Three die was perfect for making cut outs for two images from an included sheet of patterned paper. The turkey from the same paper was fussy cut.

There is always so much to see so I'm sure you want to be on your way. Be sure to visit all the blogs!

Thanks for visiting and have a Happy Autumn!!

Sharron
