Our super talented hostess this month is Jeanne at A Kept Life. Her kit was a special treat for me as it reminded me of many of the things we have in the fairly new Chinese Garden where I volunteer. Jeanne sent so many goodies and everything was brand new to me. There are so many gorgeous stamped images and wonderful die cuts. And the papers are so cool--many could almost be used on their own!
To visit the 12 Kits blog, click HERE. Jeanne also asked three friends to be guest designers so you will find links to their blogs as well as ones to all the other 12 Kits designers. Be sure to stop by and leave them a bit of love! A list of the supplies in the kit can also be found.
It seemed appropriate to start with the New Year's card. The paper, gold coin and Foo Lion are perfect for a New Year's celebration.
I loved playing with one of the Ninja images and that great cloudy moon from Hero Arts.
Of course, a meal would be called for!
The plum blossom is the national flower of China. The plum tree is known for having lovely pink blossoms very early in the spring, sometimes even when there is still snow.
This is probably my favorite as it reminds me of a certain feature of the Chinese Garden. We have a bridge that separates the Earthly Garden from the Heavenly Garden and symbolizes our relationship with our Sister City in Kaipeng, China. It refers to a poem that tells of the friendship for a visiting friend. He describes his love as deeper than the 1000 ft. deep pond in front of where he lives.
Hope you are having a wonderful time visiting all our blogs! And may you get inspiration for some crafty projects. Thanks so much for taking time to visit!
Hugs,
Sharron

Oh Sharron! It's lovely seeing the kit through your eyes! I love the bright colors on the kids with the lion dance.. and of course.. the ninja is attacking by the light of the moon! Brilliant! The inky background is wonderful.. a fun scene you created! (I think he's my favorite here). The girls paired with the pretty landscapes are beautiful too. I love the circle die with the cherry blossom paper, and the soft water with the landscape. So beautiful Sharron!
Sharron...just love all your sweet cards. Love your wonderful take out and love that you fussy the sushi, so fun! Your sweet lady in pink with the cherry blossom paper is perfection, just love your beautiful coloring! Your dragon is wonderful too , love him with the beautiful gold coin. Love your beautiful coloring!
Love the "Fun ness" of the first called witht eh kids! The delicate pink colors you cose are spot on, and the chopstick paper paired with the cartons and the forturne cookies, clever! Love the geisha and the water under the bridge! Perfections for the New Year cards! Thanks so much for letting me join in with the "gang'!
Sharron all of your cards are so lovely and finished off with your usual charm! Your very first card is so striking with the dragon and the gold coin and they way your coloured your moon/Ninja card is fabulous! The addition of your own dies make each of your cards spectacular. I loved reading about your Sister City in Kaipeng, China. What a fun story. Love them all!
Oh my goodness Sharon, not only am I blown away by your beautiful cards but I also learned so much from reading your post! How lucky you are to live near such wonderful places to volunteer. I love the mix of printed paper, embossing and die cuts on the first card. They are perfectly layered and I adore those little cuties celebrating the new year. Plum blossoms?? Who knew! I've been calling them cherry blossoms. See, I learned so much today! Anyway, that card is jsut darling with the little geisha and all the soft and lovely pink. You totally rocked Jeanne's kit, my friend!
I love how meaningful this kit was to you, and it shines in each one of your cards, Sharron! Your Foo Lion (which is a new term for me) and those kids are fantastic paired with the coin and new year sentiment! Your ninja looks stunning in the moonlight with the gold sparkling frame! I love how you cut out the sushi to put on what reminds me of a red table mat at a Chinese restaurant. Both of your geisha girls look right at home on their two wonderful card designs. I love them all, Sharron!
What a lovely and fun array of cards! I really like how each came to life and your story that went along with them. I didn't know the dragon was a particular type. I like that. And how fun that card is. The moon on your second card is just fantastic. How fun that the ninja is practicing by the light of the silvery moon. ;) What a great design for the take out boxes and cookies! Yum. I really like how you incorporated that beautiful embossed paper with the cherry or plum blossoms. So pretty! What a delightful set of cards!
You volunteer at a Chinese Garden! You must have been so excited when you opened Jeanne's incredible kit! I love everything you've created. I like the way you've colored the lion with those sweet little ones. The cloudy moon with the ninja is so darn cute. I still have both of those...hmmm!!!
These are all so beautiful Sharron! Love the red take out card and that fun ninja card with the beautiful bright moon. TheChinese Garden card is so beautiful and I love what it symbolizes for you. Sure was a fun and wonderful kit.
