The 12 Kits of Occasions: August with Birgit "Fairy Tales"

This is such a fun month for us in The 12 Kits of Occasions group. We had a chance to put aside all the daily activities and join together at a playground with gnomes and fairies and all things magical! We even met a dragon or two!

Our talented and super sweet hostess is Birgit at Crafting While I Wait. This month was even more special to me as hubby and I just returned from a trip to Maine. And part of our visit included breakfast with Birgit and her very sweet husband. I had never been to New England before and have totally fallen in love with Maine! We were looking for birds so spent much of the time hiking through wonderful wooded areas and on two boat trips. And yes, that included whales and puffins!

Birgit included so many wonderful stamped images and fabulous dies. These especially reminded me of Maine. Loved all the ferns, mushrooms and amazing wild flowers. Along the path one day were many tiny fairy houses. And who could prove whether they were made by visitors or some of the tiny folk that lived there!

I added a couple of images from Fish in the Reef, a stamp set by Marianne Design. You can barely see the embossed bubbles or her shiny scales!

Isn't a glass of wine a perfect addition to a happy day!

Be sure to visit the 12 Kits blog to find your way to all the other participants blogs. Birgit has a
wonderful guest designer that came to play with us. I met her too when she and Birgit were in Kansas in the spring. Wait til you see her amazing creations!

Hope you enjoy the hop! Thanks again to Birgit for a magical journey. Sending all of you "a million magic wishes"!

Looking forward to seeing you again next month,
Sharron

Oh Sharron, your cards are all delightful! I love the wooded archway you used with the mushroom and fairy house scene. I have to ask who makes it? I can just imagine you saw many fairy houses on your treks through the woods here in Maine. Amanda and I were walking just yesterday and found one. I think the fairies have been busy building this summer. ;0) Your little mermaid card is so sweet and I do see the embossed bubbles and her shiny scales. Perfect coloring on her!! The glass of wine was the perfect choice for dear Edna. That would certainly make for a happy day, wouldn't it? I'm so glad to see you made a shaker card with the little dragon. Just as cute as can be! I'm so glad we've had the opportunity to meet each other again and spend some time together. I'm already hoping for another trip to Maine for you and your dear hubby.

Hi Sharron! All your cards have the magic, Sharron touch, just in love with the setting you gave your log house and mushrooms. Miss Mermaid is so sweetly colored. Your added reef and bubbles seem to help her float along. Honestly would love to join the plump fairy in a glass to toast any day! Your trip to Maine sounds enchanting, especially breakfast with Birgit and your hubbys. So glad you enjoyed each other!

OH Maine is beautiful! It sounds like you had a wonderful time! What a treat to meet Birgit and her husband! Super cute cards Sharron! Of course you got me with the shaker.. hypnotized by sparkly things here. lol! I love the fairy house. I missed the bit of smoke coming out the chimney.. You colored it beautifully and I love the forest background. The addition of coral for the mermaid is perfect and Edna with the wine glass is a so fun!

Oh Sharron, every single one of your cards is a delight! I love that woodsy background for the little fairy house! Your background stamping really creates the scene for your darling mermaid, and I would definitely go for that glass of wine to end a happy day! How wonderful that you got to visit Birgit and her husband in Maine! I am so thankful that I got the chance to meet you in Kansas and hear your fascinating zoo stories!
